Sulfide solid electrolytes in the Li3PS4–LiI system are promising for all-solid-state batteries owing to their high ionic conductivity order of 10−4 S cm−1 and electrochemical stability. Nonetheless, low chemical stability tendency sulfide-based materials under ambient atmosphere is a critical issue due generation toxic H2S gas. In this study, Li4PS4I (Li3PS4–LiI) electrolyte was investigated compared with that Li3PS4 analyze effect incorporation LiI on electrolytes. No gas detected after an exposure 60 min relative humidity 40%. The hydrolysis suppression attributed formation LiI·H2O, acting as protective barrier between PS43− units H2O molecules air. structural reversibility by simple drying at 180°C confirmed exhibited room temperature, similar sample before atmosphere.
